HEART OF SHAPES
22nd Nove 2008 THROUGH 8th Feburuary 2009.
Their text:
Countless massive structures flood the DIESEL NEMIN GALLERY.These cookie-cutter like structures from----heart, diamond, and star---shapes that resemble children's toys and comic balloons. Crawl through, cuddle inside, and wander between heart, diamond, and star experience is extraordinary but also tickle your mind with nostalgia of secret hide-away from our childhood. Heart, diamond, and star structures are made with recycled paperboard. During the exhibition, it forms surreal space in the gallery. At the end, it will be melted
downand recycled back to have other forms in everyday world.
KEIKO+MANABU design team based in Tokyo and Seattle, founded by KEIKO Uchiyama and MANABU Sawase, both studied architecture in U.S. and Japan. Their design projects stretch wide from jewelry to product, commercial architecture, and urban planning, from Japan to overseas.
