Having an old house rebuilt in the land of 100 sq m at the most surrounded by houses.
The site was a building lot sold by the ready-built-house developer about 30 years ago, and now being surrounded by the houses close together in the house lots subdivided.

Among many households living in long years at the same place, the building lots are to be seen in their neighborhood. In this residential area, the aging and alternation of generations are simultaneously going on.

The client is a husband and wife used to live in 30 years. They moved to some place for several years, whilst, the old house was used as a second house. They decided to return and dwell at the long-living place and to have an old house rebuilt..

The requests from the client are to provide two rooms for two-independent-child families when they pay a visit and to design in such that the house will be able to receive sunshine as the sky is brightening because the first floor of the previous house did not take the sun streams in the morning.

To begin with, the structure of entire house is designed to satisfy vital function of daily living on the first floor for their aging and decided the sizing of it coupled with some lofts.

On the second floor, two terraces are equipped in order that the sun will reach to the first floor through the draught. In the morning, from the east terrace, in the afternoon, from center terrace, gentle light will be on and off poured into.

Two rooms on second floor in this house are designed for creating an outhouse atmosphere and are to be accessed by the each of independent stairway. Two rooms like a outhouse are also considered in having a visional and spatial connection with the first floor through draught and terraces so as not to isolate while visitors are unavailable..

Irrespective of simple exterior view of house, it produces various imagination, spreading eyes over the interior of house

Enclosing the draught space, the courtyard terrace, the place like a garret, the place from where can look out across the depths of the house, the place surrounded by private space and the like, the house represents various aspects so as to enable to enjoy living at a place in the mood of the moment, though it is compact,

By containing those in a gable roof, it creates the unique harmony as if living in a large tent.
